PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Sardar Sarovar Dam is a concrete gravity dam built on the Narmada River near the town of Kevadiya in Narmada District, in the Indian state of Gujarat. For the first time in the world, we are creating a Dam Lighting sound show that is approximately 900 mtr long and has 30 gates.
WHAT DID THE CLIENT WANT TO ACHIEVE?
Sardar Sarovar Dam is an iconic location for visitors in India, and the client wants to increase the number of visitors at night as well.
SCOPE OF WORK YOUR COMPANY WAS INVOLVED IN
We designed and executed the project in a very short time, within 1.5 months, for lighting and sound systems, and achieved the output as per the Department’s requirements.
WHAT KEY CHALLENGES WERE FACED?
Monsoon and the façade height and width, and accordingly, we have to place the lighting luminaries, so placement is the major challenge in Dam Lightin.
HOW WERE THOSE CHALLENGES RESOLVED?
The dam façade is almost 900 meters, and the visitors’ viewing gallery is far away (2 km) from the Dam. We are designing the P2P methods for single transmission from one location to another.
HOW HAS YOUR WORK HELPED THE CLIENT?
We have installed the lighting product multiple times to achieve the maximum Dam gate area. Also, the number of visitors after the light and sound Show are increasing, and visitors stay at Night to see the lighting on Sardar Sarovar Dam.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT THE PROJECT?
We are proud that the installation of the products at the dam’s high height and the Viewing Gallery with integrated 7.2 Surround Sound System were completed in a very short time.
